Note: The species is not listed in any advertising material for this model. However, at 43cm long and 1:40 scale, it would represent an animal 17-18m in length. This is exactly the estimated size of the mid-sized camarasaur species C. grandis, so identification as that species seems likely.

The Carnegie Camarasaurus is cast in a somewhat rubbery but still relatively sturdy gray vinyl, and painted with a mottled pale turquoise color pattern over a dark gray back. As you can see in my photos here, differences in lighting can make the coloration appear quite different even in the same model, so at first I thought there may be a few different color variants of this model based on online photos. As of now, though, I have yet to confirm any major variants between the release of this figure in 2002 and its discontinuation in 2015.
Camarasaurus was the last of the large Carnegie sauropods, not including remakes, and the only new large sauropod species released after the 1980s. Though it is smaller and lighter than all of the original three sauropods, it fits in nicely with them in terms of style.
